Andrew Farkas graduated from Harvard University in 1982 with Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Andrew is the founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Island Capital Group LLC. In 2005, Andrew founded Island Global Yachting (IGY), one of the world’s premier owners, developers and managers of luxury marinas and yachting lifestyle destinations. IGY focuses on acquiring, controlling, and/or servicing luxury yacht marinas and the surrounding upland real estate properties to create and maintain world-class yachting lifestyle destinations.
Prior to Island Capital Group LLC, Andrew served as Chairman and CEO of Insignia Financial Group, Inc. Andrew founded Insignia in 1990, which later became the largest owner and operator of multifamily real estate and among the largest owners and operators of commercial space in the United States.
Andrew also works with a leading real estate investment company, C-III Capital Partners LLC. C-III engages in principal investment, loan origination, fund management and primary and special loan servicing with offices in New York City and Irving, Texas.
