Creating a culture of giving back

Andrew Farkas is dedicated to supporting the arts and helping communities thrive. With a major gift from Andrew, his alma mater, Harvard University, was able to fully renovate a historic 1888 structure on campus, transforming it into a state-of-the-art performance art space.

That building, named Farkas Hall in recognition of Andrew’s gift, is also home to the Hasty Pudding Institute of 1770. The Hasty Pudding is a prestigious co-ed social institution for which Andrew serves as the Graduate Chairman.

"To know that the space will be preserved for use by those organizations, and that it will also serve to incubate the creative skills of Harvard's emerging talent, is extremely gratifying."

Helping communities reach their full potential

Andrew contributes to other arts, cultural, and charitable organizations and supports community service efforts at Island Capital companies. For example, IGY Marinas actively works to give back to the communities in which its marinas operate in the form of donations and fundraisers to benefit causes ranging from university scholarships to local meal deliveries.
